Everyday, we hear horrible stories about Nigeria but the trending gist today is the lynching of a poor 7 year old boy for allegedly stealing garri and phone...Ooh! Holy Christ!!!. Nobody was right headed enough to stop those demented minds from killing a poor boy. They all stood and watched his poor young soul burn and melt in flames.
No pastor sopke in disagreement with his killers, no community head stopped them, no imam stepped in for him, no woman could feel his pain and defend him, no father imagined his own 7 year old in such abhorrent situation and spkoe in his defence no youth was thoughtful and brave enough to champion a course of protection for him....what a country!!!.
It's a conspicuous fact that our so called political leaders steal billions of naira every day from public treasury but they never lose a strand of hair. What we see instead is celebration of those criminals in positions of authority by shallow minded apostles of mediocrity.
This jungle justice must stop. Our representatives at the States' and National Assemblies should rise up to their primary responsibilities of making laws to stop such adjudication without authority.
Such incidents should be properly investigated by the police and the Divisional Police Officer in that community should be mandated to give accounts of his findings.
The principle of "the offender should be assumed innocent until found guilty by a constitutionally established law court" should apply in all cases.
Let's share these disturbing picture till Mr president as well as those who make laws sees them.
